This is a new program that offers talented rising juniors and seniors the opportunity to take Honors classes, explore majors, and experience college life for a week in July.

JMU Summer Honors Institute

July 13-20, 2014

The James Madison University Summer Honors Institute is a unique week-long program where talented rising high school juniors and seniors get a first-hand look at life in a dynamic university and its Honors program. Participants will live in the honors dorm, sample classes from a variety of majors, and engage with professors and current students. Workshops will offer tips and advice on college admissions, major and career exploration, and academic success through college honors programs. Current JMU Honors students will lead fun activities on and off campus and provide their own insight on the college honors experience.

The cost is a $650 residential fee which covers instructors, class materials, housing, meals, and activities. Full scholarships are available to applicants who demonstrate a financial need.
