Operation Understanding DC (OUDC) Part-Time Office Manager Position Purpose of the Role: The Office Manager ensures effective and professional day-to-day office operations and provides support to all departments in the areas of Finance/Book keeping, Communication, IT and Administrative/Operations. The Office Manager should be someone who is organized and resourceful, and capable of taking the initiative to perform tasks with minimal supervision. The Office Manager works directly with the Executive Director (ED) in our DC office in order to support the organization's administrative needs performing the following duties: EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES: The ideal candidate has proven ability in the skills below as well as genuine interest in working for a high-energy and entrepreneurial nonprofit organization. ► Excellent communication skills in-person and on the phone. ► Excellent organizational, planning, and implementation skills. ► Organization of OUDC's files and documents, both historical and new files. ► Ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects. ► Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel: proficient in developing and maintaining databases; ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets; perform mail merges, etc. ► Excellent reading, writing and speaking skills. ► Ability to collaborate with a team as well as work independently. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Provide administrative support to the Executive Director; Serve as point person for all office- and lease-related issues and policies; Compile board packets, update board manuals, take minutes at meetings, and assist in make arrangements for board meetings and Committee meetings; Provide bookkeeping support through work with the Executive Director and accountant; Take on additional assignments/special projects as determined by organizational needs; Oversee procurement of office equipment and supplies; Assist in managing payroll, health insurance benefits with third-party service providers Track and record all leave accruals and employee timesheet entries DURATION: We will start the hire at 20 hours per week, and then determine how much more time each week is necessary. DATA SPECIALIST
General Summary:
The Data Specialist supports the Assessment and Evaluation team in providing timely, accurate, and actionable data to all stakeholders at the Community Academy Public Charter School (CAPCS). The primary responsibility of the Data Specialist is overseeing attendance policies and routines, with a particular focus on identifying students for interventions and tracking interventions over time. Additional responsibilities are outlined below. This opportunity is perfect for anyone interested in supporting school leaders in using data to inform instructional practice and make decisions to help their students learn at a high level. It is also a great opportunity to build experience with owning critical projects and being responsible for outcomes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Oversee attendance policies and routines at the district level, including: o Establishing system-wide policies and routines o Running weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly reports o Coordinating with campuses to track interventions o Performing monthly audits of attendance records
· Provide support to the Director of Assessment, including: o Loading roster info onto websites o Monitoring testing and auditing materials o Analyzing data and preparing reports
· Compile data to contribute to weekly and monthly data reports · Respond to data requests from internal and external stakeholders · Participate in external committees and report back to the team · Work closely with campus support staff to identify needs and respond to requests · Create structures for tracking and reviewing team learning Page 2 of 2
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
· Highly skilled with MS Excel · Strong customer service mindset · Systems thinker with experience tackling complex problems · Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task · Can handle occasional periods of fast-paced and high-pressure work · Experience working or volunteering in schools · Preferred but not required: o Experience using databases or data systems o Knowledge of charter schools in the District

Howard University invites applicants to apply for the position of the Director of the Ralph Bunche International Affairs Center (Bunche Center). Founded in 1993, the mission of the Bunche Center is to foster an awareness of International Affairs, and serve as a focal point for Howard University's diplomacy, Foreign Service, and international relations activities. Additionally, the Center seeks to provide academic programming to stimulate the intellectual discourse regarding international affairs, student engagement, and the role of the academic community in the shaping and implementation of US foreign policy. The Center aims to organize and co-sponsor lectures, workshops, and conferences; support faculty research and scholarship in international affairs; coordinate Foreign Service fellowship training programs; foster relationships with the US Department of State, as well as with foreign governments; and foster academic communities of interest in international affairs. The Director of the Bunche Center is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and administrative oversight to Center programming and activities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: oversight of current Foreign Service fellowship programs; development of an academic fellowship program for faculty and graduate students focused on international affairs; planning and hosting program activities for high level international events, including identification of external support; conduct and support of interdisciplinary academic programs with an international affairs focus; providing vision for the direction and programming of the Center; oversight of the Study Abroad Program; fundraising to expand Center activities and programming. Qualifications include an earned doctorate from an accredited institution, or extensive experience (at least 10 years in international affairs, plus a post-graduate degree). At least five years of relevant academic experience and/or five years of relevant international affairs and successful management or professional experience; strong leadership skills, established excellence in interpersonal, communication, and administrative skills, and working cooperatively and collaboratively with others; strong interest in inter-disciplinary education, and the ability to effectively articulate the vision and mission of the Ralph Bunche International Affairs Center. Candidates with backgrounds and international experience in Foreign Service, private sector, NGOs, multilaterals are strongly encouraged. The successful candidate will report directly to the Assistant Provost for International Programs.
