INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL/EXCHANGE OPPORTUNITIES FOR EDUCATORS
EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS: URUGUAY TEACHER EXCHANGE PROGRAM – REQUIRES IMMEDIATE ACTION! Travel Dates: Summer 2013 (host Uruguayan administrators in February 2013) Application Deadline: September 15, 2012 The Uruguay Teacher Exchange Program is a short-term, mutual exchange opportunity for US and Uruguay elementary and secondary school teachers, fully funded by the US State Department, and administered by American Councils. The program consists of both US hosting of Uruguayan teachers and a two-week summer travel program in Uruguay for American educators. It gives participants the opportunity to share best practices and work together on educational issues of mutual interest. This program is open only to full-time teachers who are fluent in Spanish, and have at least three years experience in a K-12 school with a strong Spanish language, immersion, or bilingual program. The program includes a hosting stipend for each US partner school, and a stipend for purchasing educational materials in Uruguay.
